Interview Questions

1. Could you start by sharing a bit about yourself?

I’m 23 years old, I live in London and I work in finance. Which sounds incredibly boring but I promise it’s not! I’m obsessed with fashion and it’s not something my job let’s me explore but I still love it.

2. Could you tell us about your blog and what inspired you to start one?

Catwalks and Contours is my blog and it’s all about turning everyday into your catwalk- without the catwalk price tag! I’ve always been obsessed with fashion and style and I’m a big believer that it’s a form of self-expression. That was really my inspiration to start a blog, just that I wanted to tell my story and express myself.

3. Who is your fashion inspiration?

In terms of an individual person I would say Selena Gomez, I think she’s extremely versatile and very fluid with her fashion which I think is always a good way to be.

4. How would you describe your style?

I’d say my style is eclectic, I love jeans a t-shirt and my Adidas trainers but I also love dressing up. I tend to stick to a more neutral colour palette overall because I always feel more put together.

5. What are your favorite stores to shop at, and why?

I’m definitely a fan of the high street and I don’t think you need to break the bank to look great. My favourite shops are Primark, Zara, Bershka, Pull and Bear, Forever 21 and for all things denim- American Eagle Outfitters.

6. What is an item you splurge on?

Like I said I’m not big on spending lots on clothes but I will splash out on bags. I think handbags are an investment. My first designer bag was a hand-me-down from my mum when I was 16, it’s older than me and I’ve still got it and it’s in great condition. Handbags are a great investment if you treat them well.

7. What is your next fashion must have?

I’m on the look out for a distressed denim jacket for the summer, I want to DIY lots of iron on patches onto it.

8. How do you handle fashion trends? (Do you like to keep up with them or not pay attention to them at all…)

I like to pay attention to the key parts of a trend, I don’t like every fashion trend but when I do like one I will update my wardrobe.

9. Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?

I like to keep simple bases and silhouettes generally in a neutral palette, I think the key is in accessories.

10. For my readers that are looking to freshen up their wardrobe, what is a great fashion tip you can share with them?

A great inexpensive way to freshen up your wardrobe is to go onto the internet and pick up some cheap but cute accessories. You’d be surprised what a faux suede cap and cute choker can do to a jeans and t-shirt.
