Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

valentines day gift guide

I don’t know about yall, but January did not last as long as it usually does, and Valentine’s day is right around the corner. Today I want to cover some gift guide ideas for V-Day and hopefully at the end of this post, I to will know what to get Sean. I know there are probably a BUNCH of Valentine’s day gift guides swirling the internet already. However, I wanted to do one that’s a little outside the box of the typical gadgets and perfume suggestions.

Take a hike

There’s nothing like getting some fresh air outdoors! Planning a hike and then grabbing a bite to eat after is the perfect combo. This is a nice relaxing way to get those endorphins flowing and an excuse to wear a light layer of makeup. There are a couple of great spots around Austin: River Place Nature Trail, McKinney Falls Park, and if you want to take a little drive there’s Enchanted Rock.

 A long weekend away

We are surrounded by some amazing towns right in the heart of the hill country. A little getaway trip can easily be planned without flying and about a 2-hour max drive. That’s a hop and skip away! There’s Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg, Gruene, San Antonio, New Braunfels all about 1-½ to 2 hours away from each other.

Take a dance class together or a cooking class

Taking a dance class can be terrifying or a whole lot of fun! Of course, you want to get the steps right but even if you’re not the best dancer learning how to two-step (or whatever style of dance you prefer) can be an all-around fun activity. Just don’t take the date to seriously and have fun 🙂

The same goes for cooking classes! I haven’t done anything like that before, but my interest is peaked! It looks like a lot of fun and you get to eat the yummy food you make…what more could you ask for besides someone nice to spend it with!

Try a new restaurant

Since this guide is Austin based trying a new restaurant is more of a dare than a cliché point to add to this list. There have been countless restaurants that have popped up in the last 3 months. Sean and I are picking one restaurant a month to try which is going to be fun 🙂 Here are some of my recent visits and places I’d like to go: TenTen, Kemuri-Tatsu-Ya, and Dai Due.

Visit a Brewery and/or Winery

There are so many breweries and wineries, especially in Austin. I feel like more or just popping up each month. Research a new brewery/winery/distillery in your area, you just might find a new date night or hangout spot to go to. A few favorites of mine have been: Still Austin, Deep Eddy’s Vodka, and Jester King.

A little something personal

When I think of this, I think about what I can get that will enhance my SO life. It doesn’t have to be a huge gift or super expensive. It could be a picture frame of a favorite moment you had with them and write something heartfelt to show your appreciation. Sometimes a gift or action that you think might be small makes a huge impact on the other person’s life. So, take some time to think a little deeper 🙂

Anyway, I hope this little gift guide gave you some new ideas for the upcoming holiday. I think it’s always nice to dote on those who love us, and it doesn’t have to just be your SO 🙂 Have fun and let me know what you have planned for Valentine’s Day!

P.S. I did think of what I am doing for Sean and it’s going to be fun. Follow me on Instagram to find out what it is 🙂
